Codex entry: mining (F2P)

Output: codex/training/mining-f2p.yaml (validator must pass).
Template: codex/economy/low-alch-f2p.yaml.

Content

  1. F2P ore veins + unlock levels (OSRS wiki Mining page — verify each;
    do NOT assume P2P ores). State machine: walk -> mine (level_is gate)
    -> bank (or drop at a safe spot if bank far — but prefer bank for the
    F2P entry; note the tradeoff).
  2. economy: ore sell prices from prices.runescape.wiki latest at
    implement time; xp/hour from wiki Mining XP table (cite).
  3. best_practice (each line sourced): best F2P pickaxe available
    (verify F2P pick list — Iron/Steel etc. on wiki), vein selection by
    xp/gp loss, bank distance tradeoff.
  4. run_control: stop when inventory full -> bank; respawn not
    applicable (note N/A); break schedule.
  5. risk: ban_level low; mining is a staple low-risk method — note why.

[worker-implemented] Commit d6eb514 on issue-4 -> PR !11 (open, verified, head issue-4 -> main).

Scope: F2P mining codex entry (issue body spec).

  • Wiki-verified 2026-08-27: F2P ore chain (clay 1/5xp ... runite 85/125, no P2P ores), pickaxe tiers bronze->rune (roll intervals 8->3 ticks), iron powermine rates 50,000 xp/hr @41+ / 52,500 @61+ (Al Kharid 3-rock spot), Doric's Quest 1,300 xp, SE Varrock banked iron, Lumbridge Swamp coal / Superheat option, adamantite + runite F2P money routes.
  • Live ore prices embedded (snapshot 2026-08-27): iron 70, coal 151, silver 73, gold 154, mithril 159, adamantite 584, runite 10,265 (id 451; all members=false).
  • State machine: idle -> mine (level_is gate) -> bank_run | drop_run; respawn noted N/A.

Evidence:

  • python3 tools/validate.py -> RESULT: 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 warning — the warning is the PRE-EXISTING researched flag on low-alch-f2p.yaml (main baseline, resolved by PR !10); this entry adds none.
  • All figures re-checked against the fetched snapshot (assertions passed).
  • git diff --check clean.
