[governor-review] BOUNCED

Reviewed current merge result main 79cab78 + head d6eb514 (synthetic merge 526445b). Validator returns 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing warning; diff-check is clean. Three execution defects block literal translation:

  1. Powermining cannot empty the inventory as written. Mined ores are non-stackable, but drop_run and action a6 target one ore stack and perform one right-click Drop. That drops at most one inventory slot, then the state returns to mine with a still-full inventory. Model iteration over every ore slot using valid grammar primitives, and pin full inventory -> empty inventory -> mine.

  2. The mine action delay contradicts its own safety requirement. The comment says sub-1.8s click cadence is the bot tell and to keep jitter above it, but the configured mandatory delay is 600-1400ms, entirely below 1.8s. Correct the timing model and distinguish the pickaxe mining-roll interval from how often a translator should re-click rocks.

  3. The Al Kharid route is not survivable from the declared minimum account. requires_other says low-level accounts need food/prayer for aggressive scorpions, but economy.supplies contains only a pickaxe and there is no eat/prayer/retreat action or route gate. The file then declares death/respawn N/A. Either gate vulnerable accounts to a safe mine or model the required survival supplies/actions and a hard-failure path; do not claim the hazard is handled when no executable behavior handles it.

Repair the same issue-4 branch and retain PR #11.

pbwraith added 1 commit 2026-08-27 19:50:02 +02:00
- Powermine drop loop: model per-slot Dropping of non-stackable ores —
  drop_run now self-loops (count_item ore > 0 -> drop_run) until the
  inventory is empty, then back to mine; a6 drops one occupied slot per
  execution and its params state the iteration contract.
- Click cadence: a2 delay was 600-1400ms, below the rune pickaxe 3-tick
  (1.8s) mining roll — replaced with 2000-4200ms and comment distinguishing
  the roll interval from translator re-click cadence (bronze 8 ticks = 4.8s
  note).
- Al Kharid survivability: route gate modeled - scorpion is level 14 and
  attacks players at combat <= 28 (wiki Aggressiveness, 2x rule), so Al
  Kharid powermine requires combat 29+ or food; new survive state with eat/
  retreat actions (a7/a8), hard-failure path (food exhausted + low HP ->
  failed; death = hard failure, no respawn claim). Banked South-east Varrock
  route preserved for sub-29 accounts. version 1 -> 2. Validator: 0 errors,
  1 pre-existing F2P WARN.

[worker-bounce-fix attempt 1]

Commit: b06b168 on branch issue-4 (PR #11 retained, head d6eb514 -> b06b168). File: codex/training/mining-f2p.yaml (validator 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing F2P WARN — not introduced here; git diff --check clean). version 1 -> 2.

Response to the three governor findings, finding by finding:

1. Powermining cannot empty the inventory — fixed with per-slot iteration.

  • drop_run now self-loops: count_item ore > 0 -> drop_run (drop one more slot) until count_item ore == 0 -> mine (full inventory -> empty inventory -> mine, now explicit in the state goals).
  • a6 drops ONE occupied ore slot per execution (right_click Drop per slot; non-stackable ores = 27 slots = 27 Drops), with the iteration contract stated in params.iterate. All primitives used are from the action grammar (right_click, count_item in the transition conditions).

2. Mine-action delay contradicted the safety requirement — timing model corrected.

  • The distinction is now explicit: the pickaxe mining-roll interval (rune = 3 ticks = 1.8s) is the game-side cap — re-clicking faster than the roll cannot speed the ore and is the bot tell. The translator's re-click cadence is the mandatory anti_ban.delay, moved from the self-contradictory 600-1400ms to [2000, 4200]ms (~1 click per roll/break cycle, humanised), with a note to scale above the 1.8s roll (bronze = 8 ticks = 4.8s) for lower-tier pickaxes. The rotation note in a2 params and the risk note both carry the 1.8s/2.0-4.2s numbers.

3. Al Kharid survivability — route gate + executable survival model, no more N/A claim.

  • Pinned the mechanic from the wiki (Aggressiveness page, fetched 2026-08-27): an aggressive monster attacks players at combat level <= 2x its level; the Al Kharid scorpion is level 14 (infobox re-verified, combat 14, hp 17), so it attacks up to combat 28 and is safe from combat 29.
  • Gate modeled at every layer: accounts.requires_other (combat 29+ OR food, else banked South-east Varrock, which has no aggressive NPCs), a1.params.route_gate, and the summary.
  • Survival is now executable, not claimed: new survive state + a7 eat (HP < 40%, session supply ~20 trout/salmon for sub-29 runs) + a8 retreat (leave the aggro radius, re-enter the cluster when safe); transitions HP < 40% -> survive, HP >= 60% & out of combat -> mine, food exhausted & HP < 40% -> failed (hard failure). The old "Respawn: N/A" comment is replaced by an honest stop condition: death is prevented by the gate + survive state; if is_dead anyway, log ERROR + alert and stop — no respawn loop.

PR #11 verified after push: state=open, merged=false, head issue-4 @ b06b168, changed files = 1. bounced removed; issue #4 stays in-review. Ready for manual re-review.

[governor-review] BOUNCED — attempt 2

Re-reviewed repaired head b06b168 against current main 79cab78 (synthetic merge d8106f3). The per-slot drop loop and safe-route concept are improvements. The merge tree passes with 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing warning; diff-check is clean. Three execution blockers remain:

  1. Tool/inventory assumptions contradict the declared level-1 account. A rune pickaxe needs 40 Attack to equip but can still mine from inventory. The entry requires/equips the highest-tier pickaxe yet hardcodes “27 ore slots / 27 Drops”; an equipped pickaxe leaves 28 ore slots, an inventory pickaxe leaves 27, and the proposed ~20-food survival load leaves far fewer. Use inventory full plus dynamic ore count, conditionally equip only when Attack permits, and never hardcode 27.

  2. The click timing still does not wait for a mining outcome. anti_ban.delay is only sleep after click_object; a2 has no until predicate tying the next click to ore-count change, rock depletion, or mining animation end. At the level-1 bronze path the mining roll is 4.8s, but the committed 2.0-4.2s delay is entirely capable of re-clicking before the first roll; the free-text instruction to “scale” is not a literal value a translator can apply. Add an explicit outcome wait/transition and a tier-aware cadence that cannot re-click an active rock.

  3. The sub-29 Al Kharid branch says to withdraw ~20 food, but food is absent from economy.supplies and there is no initial bank/withdraw action before the idle goal at the mine. Either make food an explicit session supply and provision it before travel, with capacity derived dynamically, or hard-gate sub-29 accounts to the safe Varrock route.

Repair the same issue-4 branch and retain PR #11.

- Dynamic inventory/drop model: no hardcoded 27-slot count; drop loop
  driven by count_item ore + inventory full; equip only when Attack
  requirement met (rune = 40 Attack), else carry pickaxe in inventory
- Outcome wait: new wait_rock state — re-click only on ore gained, rock
  depleted, or roll timeout; never re-click the active rock
- Tier-aware cadence: roll_table per pickaxe tier (bronze 4.8s -> rune
  1.8s), mandatory pause >= full roll + [0,1800]ms; anchor rune [1800,3600]
- Al Kharid hard-gated to combat 29+ (scorpion aggro ceiling 28 per wiki
  Aggressiveness); sub-29 -> SE Varrock, no food in the model, eat action
  removed; survive = retreat-only defensive fallback
- version 2 -> 3

[worker-bounce-fix attempt 2]

Commit: ba3a8af on branch issue-4 (PR #11 retained, head b06b168 -> ba3a8af). File: codex/training/mining-f2p.yaml (validator 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing F2P WARN — not introduced here; git diff --check clean). version 2 -> 3.

Response to the three governor findings, finding by finding:

1. Tool/inventory assumptions vs the level-1 account — dynamic, no hardcodes.

  • Equipping is now CONDITIONAL: accounts.requires_other and best_practice.equipment state "equip ONLY when the Attack requirement is met (rune = 40 Attack), otherwise carry the pickaxe in the inventory — mining from the inventory works at any level". economy.supplies is now "highest tier the account can wield" instead of an unconditional rune pickaxe; a1's note repeats the conditional.
  • The hardcoded "27 ore slots / 27 Drops" is gone: drop_run's goal and a6's iterate derive the slot count DYNAMICALLY (inventory capacity minus non-ore items: equipped pickaxe = 28 ore slots, carried = 27, survival/gear load = fewer) and drive the loop off count_item ore, with "never hardcode a slot number" stated explicitly. The mine -> drop_run transition keys off inventory full (powermine mode).

2. Click timing — explicit outcome wait + tier-aware cadence.

  • New wait_rock state: after every a2 click the machine waits for the mining outcome and only then re-clicks — transitions ore gained (count_item ore > count at click) or rock depleted -> mine, roll timeout (no outcome within 2x the equipped tier's roll) -> mine, inventory full -> drop_run/bank_run. The target line of a2 is "fresh rock in the cluster — never the rock whose roll is in progress".
  • Tier-aware cadence is now a LITERAL table, not free text: params.roll_table (ticks x 0.6s, wiki-verified): bronze 8 = 4.8s, iron 7 = 4.2s, steel 6 = 3.6s, mithril 5 = 3.0s, adamant 4 = 2.4s, rune 3 = 1.8s; params.cadence gives the mandatory per-tier pause = full roll + [0, 1800]ms with every tier's literal range (bronze [4800, 6600] ... rune [1800, 3600]). The action's anti_ban.delay [1800, 3600] is the rune-pickaxe anchor, consistent with the modeled 52,500 xp/hr @ 61+ (1,500 ores/hr ≈ one ore per 2.4s midpoint — the new economy cadence-consistency comment pins that). The pause can never be shorter than the equipped tier's full roll and the wait_rock outcome gate must elapse before any re-click.

3. Food provisioning — resolved by hard-gating, food removed from the model.

  • The Al Kharid powermine is now HARD-gated to combat level >= 29 (Aggressiveness rule: the level-14 scorpion's ceiling is combat 28): accounts.requires_other, a1.params.route_gate (level_is Combat >= 29), summary, and risk all say sub-combat-29 accounts MUST run the banked South-east Varrock route (no aggressive NPCs, no food needed).
  • The eat action and every "withdraw ~20 food" instruction are DELETED; economy.supplies holds only the pickaxe. The old survive state's eat/retreat loop is now a retreat-only defensive fallback ("the 29+ gate means scorpions never aggro at Al Kharid: if attacked anyway (gate bypassed/griefed), retreat...; no food loop is modeled"), with is_dead -> failed as the honest hard-failure path.

PR #11 verified after push: state=open, merged=false, head issue-4 @ ba3a8af, changed files = 1. bounced removed; issue #4 stays in-review. Ready for manual re-review.

[governor-review] BOUNCED — attempt 3

Re-reviewed repaired head ba3a8af against current main 79cab78 (synthetic merge 00a84f8). The exact merge tree passes with 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing warning; range git diff --check is clean. Dynamic inventory/drop handling, the sub-29 safe-route gate, and the explicit outcome state are improvements.

Three blocking literal/model contradictions remain:

  1. Pickaxe selection still conflates the tool-use gate with the equip gate. accounts.requires_other, best_practice.equipment, and economy.supplies select the “highest-tier pickaxe the account can wield” and describe rune primarily as “40 Attack.” Mining level determines which pickaxe can mine; Attack determines only whether it can be equipped. Rune is usable at 41 Mining and equipable at 40 Attack. A 1-Attack/41-Mining account must select and carry a rune pickaxe, but “highest tier ... can wield” selects a lower tool. Express both gates separately for every tier: choose by Mining requirement, then equip only if the Attack requirement is met; otherwise carry the same selected tool.

  2. economy.xp_per_hour: 52500 is not reachable at the configured midpoint cadence. With rune anti_ban.delay: [1800, 3600], the midpoint is 2.7 seconds after each click; even granting one successful ore per click and no additional wait, respawn, drop, or break overhead, the ceiling is 3600 / 2.7 × 35 = 46,667 XP/hour. The mandatory per-slot drop loop and 60–180 second breaks every 8–14 inventories reduce it further. The comment claiming this policy “brackets” 52,500 does not make 52,500 the modeled output. Preserve 52,500 only as a clearly labeled external ideal benchmark, and add/recompute the entry’s actual expected policy rate including click delay, drop-loop time, and mandatory breaks.

  3. Ore selection is not executable by mode. The summary says to mine the highest available ore tier, while best_practice says iron remains the maximum-XP ore through 99; a2 lists higher ores but has no tier-selection rule distinguishing powermine XP from banked income. At 85 Mining, a literal “highest available” XP run selects runite rather than iron. Add an explicit run mode and deterministic gate: XP/powermine selects iron from level 15 onward; banked/income selects the requested eligible ore using an explicit profitability/target rule. Pin at least level 30 and level 85 examples.

Retain PR #11 and repair the same issue-4 branch. This is the third governor bounce; if the lane retry policy is exhausted, move it to needs-guidance rather than opening a replacement PR.

PR #11 (branch issue-4) has been bounced by the governor review three times: attempt 1 = b06b168 ([worker-bounce-fix attempt 1]), attempt 2 = ba3a8af ([worker-bounce-fix attempt 2]), and the third [governor-review] BOUNCED — attempt 3 (2026-08-28T02:18:49+02:00) is the retry-policy cap. Per lane policy I am not opening a replacement PR; moving this item to needs-guidance with the governing review findings preserved.

Review request: re-review of the mining-f2p codex entry after both repair attempts.

What was attempted:

  • b06b168 (attempt 1): per-slot drop_run self-loop for powermining (full inventory -> empty inventory -> mine); anti_ban delay moved to [2000, 4200]ms with the pickaxe roll/translator cadence distinction; Al Kharid route gated to combat 29+ with eat/retreat survival state + hard failure instead of "respawn N/A".
  • ba3a8af (attempt 2): conditional equip (rune equip requires 40 Attack, carry instead otherwise); dynamic ore-slot count derived from inventory full + count_item ore (no hardcoded 27); explicit wait_rock outcome state + literal per-tier cadence table (bronze [4800, 6600] ... rune [1800, 3600]); sub-29 accounts hard-gated to banked South-east Varrock, food removed from the model.

Exact remaining failure (governor, attempt 3, 2026-08-28):

  1. Pickaxe selection conflates tool-use gate with equip gate: "highest tier the account can wield" ignores that Mining level determines usability (rune = 41 Mining) while Attack only determines equipping (rune = 40 Attack). A 1-Attack/41-Mining account must select AND carry rune. Both gates must be expressed separately for every tier.
  2. economy.xp_per_hour: 52500 is unreachable at the configured midpoint cadence (rune delay midpoint 2.7s → ceiling 3600/2.7 × 35 = 46,667 XP/hr before drop/break overhead): preserve 52,500 only as a labeled external ideal benchmark and add the entry's actual modeled policy rate including click delay, drop-loop time, and mandatory breaks.
  3. Ore selection is not executable by mode: XP/powermine should select iron from level 15 onward; banked/income should select the requested eligible ore by an explicit profitability/target rule. Pin at least level 30 and level 85 examples.

One direct question:
Which of the following do you want? (a) approve a repair iteration 3 implementing exactly the three findings above (separate Mining/Attack gates per tier; recomputed modeled XP/hr with a labeled external benchmark; explicit XP-mode vs banked-mode ore gates with level 30 and 85 examples), (b) accept the entry as-is with the documented caveats, or (c) something else?"

Decision needed: Which mining-mode contract should the entry expose?

A. Expose explicit XP and banked/income modes (Recommended) — XP selects iron from level 15 onward; income selects an eligible requested ore under a deterministic target/profit rule.
B. Make the entry XP-only — always powermine iron from level 15 onward and remove banked-income behavior.
C. Make it highest-tier progression only — choose the highest eligible ore and remove maximum-XP claims, then recompute rates for that policy.

Mandatory regardless of choice:

  • Choose pickaxe tier by Mining level, equip only when the Attack requirement is met, otherwise carry the same selected tool.
  • Distinguish the actual policy rate from the external 52,500 XP/hour ideal; the configured midpoint delay alone caps the idealized rate at about 46,667 before other overhead.
  • Repair this existing PR and issue-4 branch; do not open a replacement PR.

Owner: reply with A, B, or C. The governor will translate the choice into worker-ready guidance and then transition this same PR back to bounced for repair.

Owner decision: expose separate fast-xp and banked-income Mining modes. Do not silently select the highest-tier rock.

  • fast-xp must use the XP-oriented progression, including iron from level 15 onward where that policy applies, with its dropping or banking behavior stated explicitly.
  • banked-income must require a deterministic target ore and location and must bank the mined output. The selected target must be visible in activity state and validated against Mining level, location, and inventory policy.

Both modes must cover the complete start-to-finish lifecycle: Mining prerequisites; choosing the best usable pickaxe from Mining level; equipping it only when Attack level permits and otherwise carrying it in inventory; acquiring the tool; building the initial inventory; travel and positioning; rock selection and depletion/respawn behavior; one mining attempt and its state changes; inventory-full handling; the complete drop or bank route; inventory reconstruction and return; breaks independent of incidental banking; recovery from unavailable rocks, invalid location, missing tool, or path failure; and explicit completion/stop conditions.

Add a worked example for each mode that starts with preparation, crosses the first full-inventory boundary, reaches the first scheduled break, and resumes correctly. Keep the modeled policy rate separate from any external ideal rate. Recompute the modeled rate using the configured delays, depletion/respawn behavior, dropping or banking, travel, and mandatory breaks; the previously claimed 52,500 XP/hour exceeds the approximately 46,667 XP/hour ceiling implied by the configured midpoint delay even before those overheads.

Validators must prove the distinction between Mining level required to use a pickaxe and Attack level required only to equip it, including a 1-Attack/41-Mining account carrying and using a rune pickaxe.

This PR is being returned to the worker as bounced for repair on the same branch.

pbwraith added 1 commit 2026-08-28 10:15:14 +02:00
Owner decision 2026-08-28: expose separate fast-xp (powermine, drop) and
banked-income (deterministic target ore + mine, bank) modes; never select
highest-available rocks. Separate pickaxe gates per tier: Mining level
decides usability (rune 41), Attack only equipping (rune 40) — pinned
1-Attack/41-Mining carry-and-use example. Modeled policy rates recomputed
with cadence, respawn idle, drop/bank legs and breaks (fast-xp ~32,400
XP/hr; banked iron ~56,500 gp/hr); 52,500 kept as labeled external
benchmark only. Worked examples per mode covering preparation -> first
full inventory -> first break -> resume. Validator now proves the gate
distinction and both modes for mining entries.

[worker-bounce-fix attempt 3]

Commit: 126cf7b on branch issue-4 (PR #11 retained, head ba3a8af -> 126cf7b). Files: codex/training/mining-f2p.yaml (version 3 -> 4) and tools/validate.py (new pickaxe-gate + mode-contract checks). Validator: 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing WARN (the low-alch researched citation on main; not introduced here); git diff --check clean.

This iteration implements the owner decision (2026-08-28) plus the governor's attempt-3 findings, finding by finding:

  1. Run modes (owner: separate fast-xp and banked-income; governor #3: ore selection not executable by mode).
  • prepare is now the session-start state: it picks the mode; for banked-income it fixes ONE deterministic target ore + mine and validates it (level_is Mining >= ore level, the location contains that ore, and the inventory policy can hold it); mode + target are logged to activity state — visible, never implicit.
  • Rock selection in a2 is mode-driven and literal: fast-xp -> iron 15+ (copper/tin below 15); banked-income -> ONLY the session target ore. All "highest available ore tier" language was removed (summary, accounts, a2).
  • The drop route (fast-xp) and bank route (banked-income) are separate explicit states/transitions (drop_run vs bank_run).
  • A pinned worked example per mode lives in best_practice.techniques, each covering preparation -> first full-inventory boundary -> first scheduled break -> resume: fast-xp uses a Mining 41 / Attack 1 / combat 35 account (rune pickaxe CARRIED, 27 ores -> 27 a6 drops -> break at rotation 8-14 -> resume); banked-income uses Mining 70 / Attack 40 (adamantite @ Al Kharid south, 28 ores -> bank a load of 28 x 584 = 16,352 gp -> break -> resume, completing at 500k gp or the 2 h cap).
  1. Pickaxe selection: Mining-use and Attack-equip gates expressed SEPARATELY for every tier (governor #1 + owner).
  • Usability gate by MINING level: bronze 1, iron 1, steel 6, mithril 21, adamant 31, rune 41 (wiki pickaxe pages).
  • Equip gate by ATTACK level only: steel 5, mithril 20, adamant 30, rune 40.
  • Selection rule: highest tier whose Mining requirement is met; equip only when the Attack requirement is met; otherwise CARRY the same selected tool. The pinned 1-Attack/41-Mining account (selects, carries, uses a rune pickaxe) appears verbatim in accounts.requires_other, best_practice.equipment, economy.supplies, risk, and the prepare state goals.
  • Validator proof: tools/validate.py now ERRORS on any pickaxe-modelling entry that lacks the Mining-usability gate or the Attack-equip gate, and on the mining entry without the literal 1-Attack/41-Mining example and both mode names. All four violations were negative-tested locally and each fires.
  1. Rate model: modeled policy rate vs labeled external benchmark (governor #2 + owner).
  • economy.xp_per_hour is now the MODELLED fast-xp policy rate: 32,400 XP/hr (rune 61+, midpoint model: 2.7 s click-delay midpoint + 10% respawn/depletion idle + 0.5 s/ore drop-loop amortization + 0.39 s/ore break amortization = 3.89 s/ore -> ~925 ores/hr x 35).
  • gp_per_hour_high is the MODELLED banked-income rate: 56,500 gp/hr (iron @ SE Varrock: 2.7 + 0.3 + 1.07 bank-leg + 0.39 = 4.46 s/ore -> ~807 ores/hr x 70); the modelled adamantite alternative (~490,000 gp/hr) is in profit_drivers.
  • The wiki's 52,500 XP/hr (and 50,000 @ 41+) is retained ONLY as a clearly labelled external benchmark in the economy comment block, including the governor's ceiling note (the midpoint cadence alone caps the ideal at ~46,667 XP/hr before overhead). The comment block shows the full per-component arithmetic; a local assertion script re-derived every committed figure from the entry's own parameters (fast-xp 32,646, banked iron 56,872, adamantite 494,395 — committed figures are the rounded versions).
  1. Complete lifecycle per mode (owner): Mining prerequisites and mode/target validation (prepare); tool selection by Mining level, conditional equip-or-carry (prepare + a9), acquisition (a8) and initial inventory build; travel + positioning (a1); rock selection with depletion/respawn behavior (a2 + wait_rock, roll timeout 2x roll, depleted-cluster respawn wait); one mining attempt and its state changes (mine -> wait_rock); inventory-full handling (drop_run/bank_run); the complete drop route (a6 loop driven by count_item ore, dynamic slot count — never a hardcoded 27) or bank route (a3-a5, deposit keeps the pickaxe and rebuilds empty ore space); breaks independent of incidental banking (break_state + a10, counter on rotations, not bank visits); recovery from unavailable rocks / invalid location / missing tool / path failure (recover state, 3-loop cap -> failed); explicit per-mode completion/stop conditions (complete + run_control.stop_conditions).

Evidence: python3 tools/validate.py -> RESULT: 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 warning (pre-existing). git diff --check clean. PR #11 verified after push: state=open, merged=false, head issue-4 @ 126cf7b, changed files = 2. bounced removed; issue #4 stays in-review. Ready for manual re-review.

Reviewer note (merge order): PR !10 (issue-5) also edits tools/validate.py from the same base (main 79cab78). The hunks are disjoint (mine: end of the per-entry loop; !10: docstring, loop head, and report section), so whichever head merges first, the other applies cleanly — no textual conflict expected.

[governor-review] BOUNCED — resource/lifecycle model incomplete

Reviewed the actual merge result of head 126cf7b38adb667c5a3f46aec28f7b3a7faede1b against current base 79cab78786a1e90516439b7f4ec6101f37587824 in a clean synthetic merge.

Passing evidence:

  • git diff --check base...head — exit 0.
  • python3 tools/validate.py — exit 0; 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing citation warning.
  • Pickaxe selection now states the correct Mining-use versus Attack-equip distinction, and the two owner-selected mode names are present.

Blocking findings:

  1. The banked-income depletion/rate model is wrong by an order of magnitude. It applies a generic 0.3-second (10%) respawn/depletion allowance and claims Adamantite at Al Kharid yields about 839 ores/hour / 490,000 GP/hour. The OSRS Wiki F2P Adamantite guide states a four-minute respawn and about 120+ ores/hour only by hopping among worlds; without hopping, Al Kharid's two rocks have a hard ceiling near 30 ores/hour before mining time. At the committed 584 GP price that is <=17,520 GP/hour without hopping, or about 70,080 GP/hour at the guide's 120 ores/hour—not 490,000. Source: Mining adamantite ore (F2P). Runite takes about twelve minutes to respawn and the F2P route is in the Wilderness, yet the entry exposes it without world hopping, Wilderness travel/survival, or long-respawn handling. Source: Runite ore. Model per-ore rock count, respawn, mining-success time, location, world-hop policy, bank route, and safety; do not apply the Iron-rock cadence to high-tier ores.
  2. Fast-XP rates still assume one ore per click. anti_ban.delay controls click pacing, but a mining roll is not guaranteed to produce ore; wait_rock may span multiple rolls. The calculation adds a flat 0.3 seconds and then treats every click as one Iron ore. Derive the policy rate from an explicit level/pickaxe/ore success model or a pinned, sourced measured baseline adjusted for the declared delays, drop loop, depleted-rock rotation, and breaks. Keep Iron's approximately 5.4-second respawn distinct from success-roll time and show why a three-rock cluster avoids or incurs idle time.
  3. The fast-xp mode silently changes behavior for sub-combat-29 accounts. The mode contract says fast-XP drops every load, but the route gate sends sub-29 accounts to a "banked South-east Varrock route," effectively switching them into banking/income behavior. Preserve the chosen mode: use a safe drop-mining location for sub-29 fast-XP or reject that route with a clear eligibility result; do not change modes implicitly.
  4. Tool preparation is still not executable end to end. a8 ge_buy has no ge_open, fill wait, or ge_collect before the tool is equipped; its alternative bank-withdraw behavior exists only inside a note rather than as a bank_inventory/withdraw action. a9 use_item_on self also does not pin the actual Wield menu operation. Add explicit owned-tool and purchase branches, collection, inventory verification, conditional Wield, and recovery if the purchase/equip fails.
  5. The new validator does not prove the owner-required gate or mode contract. It lowercases the entire YAML and searches for phrases such as mining level, attack, 1-attack/41-mining, and the two mode names. Those strings can appear in comments while tier requirements, selection, transitions, or equipment behavior are wrong or absent. Add structured schema fields for the pickaxe tier table and run modes, then validate exact Mining-use/Attack-equip values, selection by Mining, conditional equip-or-carry, mode-specific target/location/inventory policy, and the 1-Attack/41-Mining result. Commit negative fixtures; a local, uncommitted assertion script is not a repository gate.
  6. The banked-income target is described as a session string, not a validated data model. Add a structured target/location table carrying Mining requirement, rock count, respawn, access/safety gates, inventory policy, bank or hop route, and measured/model rate inputs. The selected target in activity state must reference one declared row so "location contains ore" and profitability can be validated instead of asserted in prose.

Repair this existing issue-4 branch and PR. Preserve the correct pickaxe-use/equip distinction and explicit mode split.

Derive the policy rate from an explicit level/pickaxe/ore success model or a pinned, sourced measured baseline adjusted for the declared delays, drop loop, depleted-rock rotation, and breaks. Keep [Iron's approximately 5.4-second respawn](https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Iron_rocks) distinct from success-roll time and show why a three-rock cluster avoids or incurs idle time. 3. The `fast-xp` mode silently changes behavior for sub-combat-29 accounts. `a8 ge_buy` has no `ge_open`, fill wait, or `ge_collect` before the tool is equipped; its alternative bank-withdraw behavior exists only inside a note rather than as a `bank_inventory`/`withdraw` action. `a9 use_item_on self` also does not pin the actual `Wield` menu operation. Add explicit owned-tool and purchase branches, collection, inventory verification, conditional Wield, and recovery if the purchase/equip fails. 5. The new validator does not prove the owner-required gate or mode contract. It lowercases the entire YAML and searches for phrases such as `mining level`, `attack`, `1-attack/41-mining`, and the two mode names. Repair this existing `issue-4` branch and PR. Preserve the correct pickaxe-use/equip distinction and explicit mode split.

pbwraith added 1 commit 2026-08-28 10:34:57 +02:00
Governor bounce 4 + owner guidance 2026-08-28 (structured, provable, full lifecycle):

1. site model is data, not prose: new mine_sites table (ore, gates, rock_count,
   respawn_seconds, rolls_per_ore, modeled_ores_per_hour, world_hop, selectable,
   inventory_policy, access, safety, route). Adamantite @ Al Kharid south is now
   respawn-BOUND (2 rocks, 240 s respawn): modeled 120 ores/hr ONLY with world
   hopping (wiki F2P adamantite guide) = 70,080 gp/hr; no-hop ceiling ~30/hr =
   17,520; the 839 ores/hr iron-cadence fantasy is gone and a cadence-ceiling
   gate rejects it. Runite is selectable:false (Wilderness PK risk, ~12 min
   respawn) — refused, not hand-waved. New hop state + hop_world action (a14)
   implement the world-hop policy; long-respawn selectable sites REQUIRE
   world_hop + a hop_world action (validator).
2. fast-xp success model: rolls_per_ore 1.33 (61+, derived from the wiki 52,500
   benchmark: 1,500 ores/hr / 2,000 3-tick rolls/hr); rates recomputed with
   success rolls + respawn math (3 rocks x 3.59 s = 10.8 s > 5.4 s respawn ->
   zero idle, pinned) + drop/bank + breaks: xp_per_hour 28,000 (was 32,400 with
   a flat 0.3 s and 1 ore/click); 52,500 stays a labeled external benchmark.
3. sub-29 fast-xp preserved: South-east Varrock DROP site (safe, same mode) —
   the mode never silently switches to banking.
4. tool prep executable end to end: check-tool (has_item) -> withdraw-tool
   (owned branch, bank_inventory) or buy-tool + wait-ge-fill (ge_offers_done) +
   collect-tool (ge_collect, verify) -> equip-tool via menu_option Wield with
   the Attack gate; recovery on purchase/equip failure (3 -> failed).
5. VALIDATOR PROVES THE CONTRACT (no phrase-search): pickaxe_tiers must match
   the canonical F2P table exactly (Mining=use gate, Attack=equip gate,
   roll_ticks); pickaxe_examples recomputed per row (1-Attack/41-Mining must
   select + CARRY rune; 40-Attack/70-Mining equips; 5-Attack/30-Mining carries
   mithril); both modes declared with fixed inventory policies; mode refs must
   resolve to declared selectable policy-matching sites; Wilderness selectable
   -> error; modeled ores/hr <= 3600/(rolls_per_ore x 2.7 s); xp_per_hour
   within 2% of the modeled fast-xp rate. 13 committed --selftest fixtures
   (negative cases included) wired into every gate run.

Evidence: validate 2 entries 0 errors 1 pre-existing WARN; --selftest 13 PASS;
synthetic 3-way merge main 79cab78 (incl. catalog) + head clean + gate green;
git diff --check clean. version 4 -> 5.

[worker-bounce-fix attempt 4]

Commit: 765505e on branch issue-4 (PR #11 retained, head 126cf7b -> 765505e). 3 files: codex/training/mining-f2p.yaml, schemas/entry.schema.json, tools/validate.py. Implements the owner's structured data-model contract (owner-guidance 2026-08-28T09:57Z) plus all six governor bounce-4 findings. The correct pickaxe use/equip distinction and the explicit mode split from attempt 3 are PRESERVED (the governor's closing instruction).

Governor bounce 4 answered finding by finding:

  1. Banked-income depletion/rate model is order-of-magnitude wrong — fixed with per-site data. New structured mine_sites table carries per-ore rock count, respawn, mining-success input, location, world-hop policy, bank route, and safety. al-kharid-south-adamantite is now modeled as RESPAWN-BOUND: 2 rocks, 240 s respawn, world_hop: true, modeled 120 ores/hr — the wiki F2P adamantite guide's hopping baseline (70,080 gp/hr at 584 gp); the no-hop ceiling ~30 ores/hr = 17,520 gp/hr is documented; the old 839 ores/hr (generic 0.3 s allowance and iron cadence applied to a high-tier ore) is gone and a new validator cadence-ceiling gate (modeled_ores_per_hour <= 3600 / (rolls_per_ore x 2.7 s)) rejects it. Runite is declared selectable: false (Wilderness PK risk, ~12-min respawn — wiki Runite ore) and refused explicitly, and a validator gate rejects any selectable Wilderness site. The hop policy is executable: new hop state + hop_world action (a14), fired on depletion; a selectable long-respawn (>= 120 s) site now REQUIRES world_hop: true AND a hop_world action in the entry — the validator enforces both.
  2. Fast-XP no longer assumes one ore per click. Success model is explicit per site: rolls_per_ore 1.33 at 61+ iron, DERIVED from the wiki benchmark (52,500 xp/hr = 1,500 ores/hr ÷ 2,000 3-tick rolls/hr ≈ 75% success; 41-60 = 1.40), documented in economy; wait_rock spans multiple rolls. Respawn is modeled distinctly from success-roll time with the math pinned: a 3-rock cluster mines 3 x 3.59 s = 10.8 s > 5.4 s iron respawn -> ZERO respawn idle (cluster self-sustains); 2 rocks -> 7.2 s > 5.4 s -> zero idle; adamantite is the opposite case (respawn-bound). Recompute includes delays + drop loop + breaks: fast-xp xp_per_hour 28,000 (32,400 retired); 52,500 stays a labeled external benchmark only.
  3. Sub-29 fast-xp mode preserved — no silent mode switch. se-varrock-drop site (no aggressive NPCs) carries the SAME fast-xp drop behaviour; the route gate sends sub-combat-29 accounts there instead of banking. mining_modes.fast-xp.inventory_policy is pinned drop and the validator rejects any other value.
  4. Tool preparation is executable end to end. Actions split: a8 check-tool (has_item) -> owned branch a9 withdraw-tool (bank_inventory) or purchase branch a10 buy-tool (ge_buy) -> a11 wait-ge-fill (ge_offers_done — never proceeds with a pending offer) -> a12 collect-tool (ge_collect + has_item verification) -> a13 equip-tool via menu_option option: Wield (the operator menu op, not a vague use-on-self) with the Attack gate (skip -> carry). Purchase/equip failure goes to recover, 3 loops -> failed.
  5. Validator now proves the contract with STRUCTURED data, not phrase search. The blob yaml.safe_dump().lower() search is deleted. New mining_model_errors(): pickaxe_tiers must match the canonical F2P table EXACTLY (Mining=usability gate, Attack=equip-only gate, roll_ticks — rune must be 41/40/3); every pickaxe_examples row is recomputed from the tiers (select highest mining_level <= Mining; equipped = Attack >= equip gate) and compared — the owner-mandated 1-Attack/41-Mining row must select AND CARRY rune (equipped=false), 40-Attack/70-Mining must equip, 5-Attack/30-Mining must carry mithril; both modes must be declared with fixed inventory policies; mode site refs must resolve to declared selectable policy-matching rows; long-respawn/wilderness/ceiling gates as above; economy.xp_per_hour must sit within 2% of the modeled fast-xp rate. 13 committed --selftest fixtures (every negative case included) run on every gate invocation — the previous uncommitted assertion script is replaced.
  6. Banked-income target is now a validated data model. mining_modes.banked-income.targets references mine_sites row ids; the session-selected row is logged to activity state; "location contains ore", Mining gate, hop policy, inventory policy, and profitability all validate against the declared row instead of prose.

Lifecycle metadata (owner list): Mining prerequisites (accounts + pickaxe_tiers); best usable pickaxe by Mining level with equip-only-when-Attack; tool acquisition (owned/purchase branches + failure recovery); initial inventory (pickaxe + empty ore space, dynamic slot count); travel/positioning; rock selection + depletion/respawn (per-site respawn_seconds, wait_rock + hop); one mining attempt and state changes (rolls_per_ore); inventory-full handling (drop_run / bank_run); reconstruction and return; breaks independent of banking/hops; recovery (rocks/location/tool/path); explicit stop conditions. Worked examples per mode updated (fast-xp 1-Attack/41-Mining carry-rune drop session; banked-income adamantite hop session, 28 x 584 = 16,352 gp per bank load).

Evidence: python3 tools/validate.py -> 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing WARN (exit 0); --selftest -> 13 PASS (exit 0); synthetic 3-way merge main 79cab78 (incl. issue-6 catalog) + head: clean, gate green; git diff --check clean. PR #11 re-verified after push: state=open, merged=false, head issue-4 @ 765505e, 3 changed files with non-empty diff. bounced removed; issue #4 stays in-review. Ready for manual re-review.

Governor bounce 4 answered finding by finding: 1. **Banked-income depletion/rate model is order-of-magnitude wrong — fixed with per-site data.** New structured `mine_sites` table carries per-ore rock count, respawn, mining-success input, location, world-hop policy, bank route, and safety. `al-kharid-south-adamantite` is now modeled as RESPAWN-BOUND: 2 rocks, 240 s respawn, world_hop: true, modeled 120 ores/hr — the wiki F2P adamantite guide's hopping baseline (70,080 gp/hr at 584 gp); the no-hop ceiling ~30 ores/hr = 17,520 gp/hr is documented; the old 839 ores/hr (generic 0.3 s allowance and iron cadence applied to a high-tier ore) is gone and a new validator **cadence-ceiling gate** (`modeled_ores_per_hour <= 3600 / (rolls_per_ore x 2.7 s)`) rejects it. [governor-review] BOUNCED — Mining preparation and low-level target model remain incomplete

Reviewed head 765505ed0fb334c56486fbc97799e9fd146a1c1a against current base 79cab78786a1e90516439b7f4ec6101f37587824 in a clean synthetic merge. Validation and all 13 self-tests pass; the structured pickaxe gates and high-tier respawn correction are good. Blocking gaps remain:

  1. Tool purchase is still not executable end to end. a10 calls ge_buy directly, but there is no ge_open action anywhere in the entry. Add open -> place -> bounded fill/partial/no-fill handling -> collect/refund -> verify -> equip-or-carry, and connect those actions through preparation/recovery. A timeout must cancel/collect or fail closed rather than retry a resting offer indefinitely.
  2. The entry claims min_level: 1 and says fast-xp uses copper/tin below 15, but every selectable fast-xp mine_sites row requires Mining 15. Copper/tin have no structured row, route, success/rate input, or validator selection fixture, so a level 1-14 account cannot arm a valid run. Add the missing structured fallback sites and pin level-1 and level-14 selections, or raise the entry minimum and remove the unreachable prose.
  3. a2 advertises banked silver, coal, gold, and mithril targets, but mining_modes.banked-income.targets declares only iron and adamantite. Restrict the action to declared rows or add complete rows for those ores; the action and validated target table must describe the same selectable set.

Preserve the Mining-vs-Attack pickaxe model, safe sub-29 fast-XP route, and respawn/world-hop corrections. Repair this same branch and PR.

pbwraith added 1 commit 2026-08-28 22:52:33 +02:00
Governor bounce 5 (2026-08-28) repaired finding by finding:
1. Tool purchase is now executable end to end: new a10 ge_open before any
   ge_buy; a12 wait-ge-fill is BOUNDED (one 3-6 min fill window) and on
   no-fill/partial-fill TIMEOUT cancels the resting offer -> a13
   collects/refunds -> fail closed via recover (3 loops -> failed); a resting
   offer is never re-placed indefinitely. Actions renumbered a11..a17.
2. min_level 1 copper/tin below-15 path now has STRUCTURED fallback rows
   (mine_sites se-varrock-copper / se-varrock-tin, level 1, 17.5 xp, safe
   East Varrock) added to mining_modes.fast-xp.sites; level-1 and level-14
   selections are pinned in a new mining_selections block and recomputed by a
   new select_fast_site() validator gate (+ 3 committed selftest fixtures).
3. a2 no longer advertises silver/coal/gold/mithril banked targets: it
   restricts banked-income to the declared rows (iron @ se-varrock-bank,
   adamantite @ al-kharid-south-adamantite); superheat-coal technique is
   marked informational-only. New ge_open/ge_offers_done/ge_collect
   validator gate (+ 1 fixture). Modeled below-15 rate 6,300 XP/hr (was
   the unbacked '~8,800' prose) recomputed from the bronze cadence midpoint.

Commit: 64b5e48 on branch issue-4 (PR #11 retained, head 765505e -> 64b5e48). Files: codex/training/mining-f2p.yaml (version 5 -> 6), schemas/entry.schema.json (new mining_selections schema), tools/validate.py (new structural gates + 4 committed selftest fixtures). Validator: 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing WARN (the low-alch researched citation on main); --selftest -> 17 PASS (13 prior + 4 new); git diff --check clean; synthetic 3-way merge main 79cab78 + head -> clean, gate green.

Response to the three governor findings, finding by finding:

1. Tool purchase is now executable end to end (open -> place -> bounded fill/no-fill -> collect/refund -> verify -> equip-or-carry).

  • NEW a10 open-ge (verb ge_open) now precedes any ge_buy/ge_collect — the exchange interface must be open before an offer is placed or items are collected. Chain: a8 check-tool -> owned: a9 withdraw-tool; missing: a10 open-ge -> a11 buy-tool (ONE offer) -> a12 wait-ge-fill (bounded) -> a13 collect-tool (verify) -> a14 equip-tool (Wield w/ Attack gate, else carry). Actions renumbered a11..a17 throughout (prepare, recover, hop/break/reposition, worked examples).
  • a12 wait-ge-fill (ge_offers_done) polls exactly ONE bounded fill window (3-6 min): on no-fill/partial-fill TIMEOUT it CANCELS the resting offer, a13 collects the item if it finally filled or REFUNDS the gp, verifies has_item, and fails CLOSED through recover (3 loops -> failed) — a resting offer is never re-placed indefinitely (on_fail: alert on the wait).
  • a13 collect-tool collects finished transactions (item or gp refund), verifies, and routes a still-missing tool to recover (a8 path, 3-loop cap). run_control.stop_conditions gains an explicit "GE purchase fail-closed" condition.
  • Validator now REJECTS ge_buy without ge_open / ge_offers_done / ge_collect (structural gate + committed fixture f17) — regression-proof, not prose.

2. Below-15 copper/tin path is now structurally arming-able (level 1-14).

  • accounts.min_level: 1 no longer dangles: mine_sites gains two STRUCTURED selectable fast-xp rows — se-varrock-copper (ore 436) and se-varrock-tin (ore 438): mining_level 1, 17.5 xp, 2 rocks, 5.4 s respawn, rolls_per_ore 1.6, modeled 360 ores/hr -> 6,300 XP/hr, no aggressive NPCs — added to mining_modes.fast-xp.sites.
  • New mining_selections.fast_xp block PINS the level-1 and level-14 selections to the copper/tin fallback; the validator recomputes each pin with a deterministic select_fast_site() (highest ore xp among eligible selectable fast-xp sites; tie-break lexicographic) and rejects mismatches, plus a structural gate requiring a selectable fast-xp site with mining_level <= 14 (and <= min_level) whenever min_level < 15 (committed fixtures f14/f15/f16).
  • A third worked example now walks a level-1 run through the full lifecycle (preparation -> first full inventory -> first scheduled break -> resume), and the below-15 prose rate is corrected from the unbacked "~8,800 XP/hr" to a derived 6,300 XP/hr (1.6 rolls x 5.7 s bronze midpoint + 0.5 drop + 0.39 break = 10.01 s/ore -> 360 ores/hr); the old economy "bronze path ~8,800" claim is gone and 52,500 stays a labeled external benchmark only.

3. a2 target set now equals mining_modes.banked-income.targets exactly.

  • a2.params.rock no longer advertises silver 20 / coal 30 / gold 40 / mithril 55: banked-income mines ONLY the session's DECLARED target row (iron @ se-varrock-bank, adamantite @ al-kharid-south-adamantite — the only declared/validated banked targets; no other ore is advertised).
  • The "superheat coal" technique is retitled informational-only (no coal mine_sites row; not a selectable target; a2 never advertises it); profit_drivers keeps the ore chain strictly as a data table.

Preserved from the accepted bounce-4 fixes: the Mining-vs-Attack pickaxe gates (validated exactly), the fast-xp/banked-income mode split with fixed inventory policies, and the respawn/world-hop model (adamantite = hop-only 120 ores/hr, runite non-selectable).

Evidence: python3 tools/validate.py -> RESULT: 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 warning (pre-existing, on main). python3 tools/validate.py --selftest -> 17 PASS. git diff --check clean. PR #11 verified after push: state=open, merged=false, head issue-4 @ 64b5e48, changed files = 3 with non-empty diff. bounced removed; issue #4 stays in-review. Ready for manual re-review.

Chain: a8 check-tool -> owned: a9 withdraw-tool; missing: a10 open-ge -> a11 buy-tool (ONE offer) -> a12 wait-ge-fill (bounded) -> a13 collect-tool (verify) -> a14 equip-tool (Wield w/ Attack gate, else carry). Actions renumbered a11..a17 throughout (prepare, recover, hop/break/reposition, worked examples). - `a12 wait-ge-fill` (ge_offers_done) polls exactly ONE bounded fill window (3-6 min): on no-fill/partial-fill TIMEOUT it CANCELS the resting offer, `a13` collects the item if it finally filled or REFUNDS the gp, verifies `has_item`, and fails CLOSED through recover (3 loops -> failed) — a resting offer is never re-placed indefinitely (`on_fail: alert` on the wait). - `a13 collect-tool` collects finished transactions (item or gp refund), verifies, and routes a still-missing tool to recover (a8 path, 3-loop cap). `run_control.stop_conditions` gains an explicit "GE purchase fail-closed" condition. - Validator now REJECTS `ge_buy` without `ge_open` / `ge_offers_done` / `ge_collect` (structural gate + committed fixture f17) — regression-proof, not prose. **2. Below-15 copper/tin path is now structurally arming-able (level 1-14).** - `accounts.min_level: 1` no longer dangles: `mine_sites` gains two STRUCTURED selectable fast-xp rows — `se-varrock-copper` (ore 436) and `se-varrock-tin` (ore 438): mining_level 1, 17.5 xp, 2 rocks, 5.4 s respawn, rolls_per_ore 1.6, modeled 360 ores/hr -> 6,300 XP/hr, no aggressive NPCs — added to `mining_modes.fast-xp.sites`. - New `mining_selections.fast_xp` block PINS the level-1 and level-14 selections to the copper/tin fallback; the validator recomputes each pin with a deterministic `select_fast_site()` (highest ore xp among eligible selectable fast-xp sites; tie-break lexicographic) and rejects mismatches, plus a structural gate requiring a selectable fast-xp site with mining_level <= 14 (and <= min_level) whenever min_level < 15 (committed fixtures f14/f15/f16). - A third worked example now walks a level-1 run through the full lifecycle (preparation -> first full inventory -> first scheduled break -> resume), and the below-15 prose rate is corrected from the unbacked "~8,800 XP/hr" to a derived 6,300 XP/hr (1.6 rolls x 5.7 s bronze midpoint + 0.5 drop + 0.39 break = 10.01 s/ore -> 360 ores/hr); the old economy "bronze path ~8,800" claim is gone and 52,500 stays a labeled external benchmark only. **3. a2 target set now equals mining_modes.banked-income.targets exactly.** - `a2.params.rock` no longer advertises silver 20 / coal 30 / gold 40 / mithril 55: banked-income mines ONLY the session's DECLARED target row (iron @ se-varrock-bank, adamantite @ al-kharid-south-adamantite — the only declared/validated banked targets; no other ore is advertised). - The "superheat coal" technique is retitled informational-only (no coal `mine_sites` row; not a selectable target; a2 never advertises it); `profit_drivers` keeps the ore chain strictly as a data table. Preserved from the accepted bounce-4 fixes: the Mining-vs-Attack pickaxe gates (validated exactly), the fast-xp/banked-income mode split with fixed inventory policies, and the respawn/world-hop model (adamantite = hop-only 120 ores/hr, runite non-selectable). Evidence: `python3 tools/validate.py` -> RESULT: 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 warning (pre-existing, on main). `python3 tools/validate.py --selftest` -> 17 PASS. `git diff --check` clean. PR #11 verified after push: state=open, merged=false, head `issue-4` @ 64b5e48, changed files = 3 with non-empty diff. `bounced` removed; issue #4 stays `in-review`. Ready for manual re-review.

[governor-review] BOUNCED — the level-1 pickaxe path contradicts its own gates

Reviewed repaired head 64b5e4890eed861a4b8578a743593686e1032e5d against base 79cab78786a1e90516439b7f4ec6101f37587824 in a fresh synthetic merge. Validation passes with 0 errors (one unrelated citation warning), all 17 selftests pass, and the GE acquisition, below-15 sites, dynamic inventory capacity, and declared banked targets are repaired.

The committed level-1 worked path is still internally inconsistent. pickaxe_tiers gives both bronze and iron a Mining requirement of 1 and an Attack equip requirement of 1; the policy says choose the highest unlocked tier and acquire it if missing. At Mining 1 / Attack 1 that deterministically selects an iron pickaxe and it can be equipped. The worked example instead calls bronze canonical and says Attack 1 means it cannot be equipped, so it carries the tool and models only 27 ore slots. That is false under the entry's own table and changes the cadence/capacity calculation.

Define an explicit tier rank/tie-break for equal Mining gates, make Mining 1 select iron when acquisition is allowed, and equip it at Attack 1. If an owned-only fallback is desired, encode that separately rather than contradicting highest-unlocked acquisition. Update the level-1 worked lifecycle/rate inputs and add a recomputed 1-Attack/1-Mining pickaxe fixture proving tier, equipped state, and 28-vs-27 capacity. Preserve the required 1-Attack/41-Mining rune-carry fixture. Repair this same branch and PR.

Authorize another repair iteration on this same issue-4 branch and PR #11. The latest instruction to work through the PR queue authorizes completing the remaining objective level-1 tool inconsistency; do not accept it as follow-up work and do not relax the review bar.

Implement governor comment 10476 exactly: define an explicit tier rank/tie-break for equal Mining gates; with acquisition allowed, Mining 1 selects the faster iron pickaxe, and Attack 1 permits it to be equipped. Update the level-1 lifecycle, slot capacity, and rate inputs accordingly. Add a recomputed 1-Attack/1-Mining fixture for tier/equipped/capacity while preserving the required 1-Attack/41-Mining rune-carry fixture.

Preserve the complete GE tool acquisition, structured copper/tin fallback, two Mining modes, dynamic 27/28 inventory handling, declared banked targets, and rate gates. Repair this PR; do not open a replacement.

This authorization supersedes the retry-budget gate for this finding.

Owner guidance 2026-08-29 for governor review 10476 (PR #11), finding by finding:

1. Explicit tier rank/tie-break for equal Mining gates. pickaxe_tiers
   declared bronze and iron both at Mining 1 / Attack 1 while the
   level-1 worked example called bronze canonical and carried it (27
   slots) — internally contradictory under the entry's own
   highest-unlocked acquisition policy. pickaxe_tiers now carries an
   explicit rank (bronze 1 .. rune 6) and the selection rule resolves
   equal Mining gates by rank: Mining 1 deterministically selects IRON
   (7-tick roll, rank 2) over bronze (rank 1), and Attack 1 EQUIPS it
   (iron attack gate = 1) -> 28 ore slots. Stated at every policy
   layer (summary, accounts.requires_other, best_practice.equipment,
   prepare state, economy.supplies, a14 equip-tool gate, pickaxe_tiers
   head comment). An owned-only bronze run is documented as an operator
   choice, never the entry's selection rule.

2. Level-1 lifecycle/rate inputs recomputed. The level-1 worked
   example now uses the equipped iron pickaxe: 28 ore slots per drop
   load, iron cadence [4200, 6000] ms (midpoint 5.1 s), and the
   copper/tin rate re-derived from that cadence: 1.6 rolls x 5.1 + 0.5
   drop + 0.39 break = 9.05 s/ore -> 398 ores/hr -> ~6,960 XP/hr (pin
   6,900), replacing the bronze-midpoint 360 ores/hr / 6,300 XP/hr.
   Updated in mine_sites (se-varrock-copper / se-varrock-tin),
   economy comment block, profit_drivers, worktree example, and risk
   notes; no other rate changes (fast-xp iron 28,000 and banked rates
   untouched).

3. Recomputed 1-Attack/1-Mining fixture + capacity proof. Schema:
   pickaxe_tiers gains required rank (1..6); pickaxe_examples gain
   required expected_slots (28 equipped / 27 carried). Validator:
   select_pickaxe() ties by rank; every pickaxe_examples row is
   recomputed including expected_slots, the 1-Attack/41-Mining
   rune-carry fixture is preserved, and the 1-Attack/1-Mining row is
   now mandatory (selects iron, equipped, 28). Committed negative
   fixtures f18-f22: bronze-at-Mining-1, carried-at-Attack-1, wrong
   slots, missing 1/1 fixture, and a tier missing rank are all
   rejected (22 selftests pass).

Preserved: complete GE tool acquisition loop, structured copper/tin
below-15 fallback, fast-xp/banked-income modes, dynamic 27/28
inventory handling, declared banked targets, respawn/world-hop model,
and all prior rate gates. version 6 -> 7, updated 2026-08-29.

Gate: python3 tools/validate.py -> 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing
F2P WARN (low-alch-f2p researched, untouched); --selftest -> 22 PASS;
git diff --check clean.

Implements the owner decision (2026-08-29T10:00, for governor review 10476) — the level-1 pickaxe contradiction, finding by finding:

  1. Explicit tier rank/tie-break for equal Mining gates. pickaxe_tiers declared bronze AND iron both at Mining 1 / Attack 1 while the level-1 worked example called bronze canonical and carried it (27 slots) — false under the entry's own highest-unlocked acquisition policy. The table now carries an explicit rank (bronze 1 .. rune 6) and selection resolves equal Mining gates by rank: Mining 1 deterministically selects IRON (7-tick roll, rank 2) over bronze (rank 1), and Attack 1 EQUIPS it (iron attack gate = 1) -> 28 ore slots. Stated at every policy layer (summary, accounts.requires_other, best_practice.equipment, prepare state, economy.supplies, a14 equip-tool gate, pickaxe_tiers head comment); an owned-only bronze run is documented as an operator choice, never the entry's selection rule.

  2. Level-1 lifecycle/rate inputs recomputed. The level-1 worked example now uses the EQUIPPED iron pickaxe: 28 ore slots per drop load, iron cadence [4200, 6000] ms (midpoint 5.1 s), and the copper/tin rate re-derived: 1.6 rolls x 5.1 + 0.5 drop + 0.39 break = 9.05 s/ore -> 398 ores/hr -> ~6,960 XP/hr (pin 6,900), replacing the bronze-midpoint 360 ores/hr / 6,300 XP/hr. Updated in mine_sites (se-varrock-copper / se-varrock-tin), the economy comment block, profit_drivers, the worked example, and risk notes. No other rates changed (fast-xp iron 28,000; banked iron 49,900; adamantite 70,080 untouched).

  3. Recomputed 1-Attack/1-Mining fixture + 28-vs-27 capacity proof, 1-Attack/41-Mining preserved. Schema: pickaxe_tiers gains required rank (1..6) and pickaxe_examples gains required expected_slots (28 equipped / 27 carried) — minimal JSON diff, original formatting kept. Validator: select_pickaxe() ties by rank; every pickaxe_examples row is recomputed INCLUDING expected_slots; the owner-mandated 1-Attack/41-Mining rune-carry row is preserved and the recomputed 1-Attack/1-Mining row is now mandatory (expected_tier iron-pickaxe, equipped=true, slots=28). Committed negative fixtures f18-f22 (all rejected, all pass): Mining 1 expecting bronze; 1/1 expecting a CARRIED iron; 1/1 equipped with 27 slots; missing 1/1 fixture; a tier missing rank.

Preserved per the owner directive: complete GE tool acquisition loop (open -> place -> bounded fill -> collect/refund -> verify -> equip-or-carry), structured copper/tin below-15 fallback with mining_selections pins, fast-xp/banked-income modes with fixed inventory policies, dynamic 27/28 inventory handling, declared banked targets (iron/adamantite only), respawn/world-hop model, all prior rate gates.

Evidence: python3 tools/validate.py -> RESULT: 2 entries, 0 errors, 1 warning (pre-existing). --selftest -> 22 PASS. git diff --check clean. PR #11 verified after push: state=open, merged=false, head issue-4 @ a0b03b8, changed files = 3 with non-empty diff.

Reviewer note (merge order): main advanced 79cab78 -> 762a8bb608 when PR #8 (low-alch-members) merged; its tools/validate.py changes (alch accounting regression) overlap this branch's edits to the same file, so Gitea now reports PR #11 mergeable=false — siblings #7 and #10 (same old base) are equally non-mergeable. The hunks are in distinct file regions (alch regression functions + main() call site vs mining-model machinery + selftest) and should reconcile sequentially at manual review; no rebase was requested and no history was rewritten.

Governor review (2026-08-29, "head not mergeable into current main") + owner authorization (comment 10529) — current-main reconciliation on the EXACT existing head branch issue-4 (no new branch, no replacement PR). New commits: 2a5cfb3 (merge main @ 762a8bb — PR #8) + 7ee36da (merge main @ a197165 — PR #7 merged mid-flight). Head now 7ee36da; PR re-verified: state=open, merged=false, head issue-4, base main, mergeable=true, 3 changed files with non-empty diff.

What happened: while this PR was open, main advanced TWICE — PR #8 (low-alch-members) then PR #7 (GE flipping) — both modifying the shared tools/validate.py / schemas/entry.schema.json, which made Gitea report mergeable=false (the 2026-08-29 "update branch" API confirmed a real conflict after #7 merged: this branch predated the flip machinery). Both main merges were integrated and every overlap reconciled.

Reconciliation (both sides preserved — Low Alchemy gates AND this Mining repair):

  1. main @ 762a8bb (PR #8) merged: the alchemy regression gates from main (alch_worked_example_regression, _loss_reserve_stop, alch_accounting_regression + their main() call sites) are present alongside the mining machinery; tools/validate.py conflicted only at the insertion points and was resolved with both feature sets.
  2. main @ a197165 (PR #7, merged while this repair was in flight) merged: the GE flip lifecycle gates (MARGIN_TAGS/ge_floor_tax_error, per-slot sub-state machine + side-aware conservation, closed -> free archival release, ge_lifecycle_errors, and the flip selftest suite) are present alongside the mining model gates. The two selftest suites coexist: the mining suite stays run_selftest() and the flip suite runs as run_flip_selftest() (both wired into --selftest and into the every-invocation gate: python3 tools/validate.py runs both). Schema merged with both feature sets: mining blocks (pickaxe_tiers/pickaxe_examples/mining_modes/mining_selections/mine_sites), PR #7's slot_state_machine + ceiling_gp_per_hour + ge_cancel verb, and PR #8's content — the schema diff vs main is exactly the mining additions.
  3. Conflicts were genuine, resolved hunk-by-hunk in tools/validate.py (module docstring, imports math/re, one large insertion-point block, two main() call sites) and schemas/entry.schema.json (one property-insertion region).

Evidence (run on the reconciled head):

  • python3 tools/validate.py: 4 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing warning (low-alch-f2p citation TODO, unrelated) — mining-f2p, flip-candidates, low-alch-members, low-alch-f2p all pass the unified gate.
  • python3 tools/validate.py --selftest: 57 checks PASS, 0 errors — the mining suite (22, incl. the 1-Attack/1-Mining iron-equip fixture and preserved 1-Attack/41-Mining rune-carry fixture) plus the flip suite (35, incl. the tax x4, async-slot, collection-box, limit-window, side-aware conservation, and two-rotation slot-reuse fixtures).
  • git diff --check: clean.
  • git diff origin/main -- schemas/entry.schema.json: exactly the mining additions.
  • PR #11 re-verified post-push: state=open, merged=false, head issue-4 @ 7ee36da, mergeable=true, 3 changed files with non-empty diff.

[worker-bounce-fix attempt 7] Governor review (2026-08-29, "head not mergeable into current main") + owner authorization (comment 10529) — current-`main` reconciliation on the EXACT existing head branch `issue-4` (no new branch, no replacement PR). New commits: `2a5cfb3` (merge main @ 762a8bb — PR #8) + `7ee36da` (merge main @ a197165 — PR #7 merged mid-flight). Head now `7ee36da`; PR re-verified: state=open, merged=false, head `issue-4`, base main, **`mergeable=true`**, 3 changed files with non-empty diff. What happened: while this PR was open, main advanced TWICE — PR #8 (low-alch-members) then PR #7 (GE flipping) — both modifying the shared `tools/validate.py` / `schemas/entry.schema.json`, which made Gitea report `mergeable=false` (the 2026-08-29 "update branch" API confirmed a real conflict after #7 merged: this branch predated the flip machinery). Both main merges were integrated and every overlap reconciled. **Reconciliation (both sides preserved — Low Alchemy gates AND this Mining repair):** 1. `main @ 762a8bb` (PR #8) merged: the alchemy regression gates from main (`alch_worked_example_regression`, `_loss_reserve_stop`, `alch_accounting_regression` + their main() call sites) are present alongside the mining machinery; `tools/validate.py` conflicted only at the insertion points and was resolved with both feature sets. 2. `main @ a197165` (PR #7, merged while this repair was in flight) merged: the GE flip lifecycle gates (`MARGIN_TAGS`/`ge_floor_tax_error`, per-slot sub-state machine + side-aware conservation, `closed -> free` archival release, `ge_lifecycle_errors`, and the flip selftest suite) are present alongside the mining model gates. The two selftest suites coexist: the mining suite stays `run_selftest()` and the flip suite runs as `run_flip_selftest()` (both wired into `--selftest` and into the every-invocation gate: `python3 tools/validate.py` runs both). Schema merged with both feature sets: mining blocks (pickaxe_tiers/pickaxe_examples/mining_modes/mining_selections/mine_sites), PR #7's `slot_state_machine` + `ceiling_gp_per_hour` + `ge_cancel` verb, and PR #8's content — the schema diff vs main is exactly the mining additions. 3. Conflicts were genuine, resolved hunk-by-hunk in `tools/validate.py` (module docstring, imports `math`/`re`, one large insertion-point block, two main() call sites) and `schemas/entry.schema.json` (one property-insertion region). **Evidence (run on the reconciled head):** - `python3 tools/validate.py`: **4 entries, 0 errors, 1 pre-existing warning** (low-alch-f2p citation TODO, unrelated) — mining-f2p, flip-candidates, low-alch-members, low-alch-f2p all pass the unified gate. - `python3 tools/validate.py --selftest`: **57 checks PASS, 0 errors** — the mining suite (22, incl. the 1-Attack/1-Mining iron-equip fixture and preserved 1-Attack/41-Mining rune-carry fixture) plus the flip suite (35, incl. the tax x4, async-slot, collection-box, limit-window, side-aware conservation, and two-rotation slot-reuse fixtures). - `git diff --check`: clean. - `git diff origin/main -- schemas/entry.schema.json`: exactly the mining additions. - PR #11 re-verified post-push: state=open, merged=false, head `issue-4` @ 7ee36da, mergeable=`true`, 3 changed files with non-empty diff. [governor-review] MERGED — exact head 7ee36da4455633cc1bf54642f58a90c5138ab228 reviewed against base a19716585bc4a84f21836cec15dcc2b772eac0a4.

Evidence:

  • The synthetic merge was clean and git diff --check passed.
  • Full validator: 4 entries, 0 errors (one unrelated pre-existing citation warning).
  • Selftests: 57/57 passed, including all Mining and already-merged GE lifecycle regressions.
  • The canonical tier rank makes Mining 1 select iron over bronze; Attack 1 equips iron for 28 ore slots. The 1-Attack/41-Mining fixture still selects rune, carries it, and preserves 27 ore slots.
  • Negative fixtures reject bronze selection at Mining 1, carried iron at Attack 1, wrong slot counts, missing rank, and missing owner-mandated boundary examples.
